Pratomusei Card: 4 museums with one ticket

The cost-effective combined pass to visit the main museums of Prato

The Pratomusei Card is the combined pass to visit the Pecci Contemporary Art Center, the Museo del tessuto, the Palazzo Pretorio Museum and the Diocesan Museums.

The Card costs 16 euros, with a special price for families (28 € for 2 adults and 2 children up to 14 years).
It is valid for 3 days, starting from the moment of its first use.

In addition to unlimited entry to the 4 museums, the pass also allows free circulation on the city public transport network, as well as guaranteeing a series of discounts and concessions in hotels, restaurants, shops and parkings.

The Pratomusei Card can be purchased at the ticket offices of the four partner museums, or purchased online.

The Museums

Palazzo Pretorio Museum is located n the heart of Prato, in a wonderful medieval palace, built as a prison. It houses works by great artists such as Bernardo Daddi, Donatello, Filippo and Filippino Lippi, Alessandro Allori, Santi di Tito, Lorenzo Bartolini, as well as excellent temporary exhibitions.

The Textile Museum expands to 3,000 square-meters in what was once a textile factory. It is one of the most remarcable examples of industrial architecture recovery in Tuscany. It hosts permanent and temporary exhibitions.

Among the Diocesan Museums, the main one is the Cathedral Museum: in an evocative atmosphere of medieval origin, set around a Romanesque cloister, the museum displays artworks by the masters of the Renaissance: Donatello, Michelozzo, Filippo Lippi, Paolo Uccello and Botticelli. The collection also includes sculptures and frescoes, tapestries and precious sacred gold; a section is dedicated to the most venerated relic of Prato (The Holy Girdle).

The Luigi Pecci Centre for Contemporary Art, designed by the rationalist architect Italo Gamberini, reopened in 2016 after the completion of the futuristic renovation by the Dutch-Chinese architect Maurice Nio. Inside is a collection of over 1000 works that map artistic trends from the 1960s to the present day: painting, sculpture, cinema and video, installations, works on paper, artist books, photographs, graphic arts, applied arts and commissioned projects. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and events.
