It began in Florence on June 1st and it will continue throughout the summer, until September 30: it’s “Terrazza con vista” (“Roof with a view”).
Are you wondering why you should care about this news?Well: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5… here is why! 1 – THE VIEW - “Terrazza con vista” offers everyone, locals and tourists, the opportunity to reach some of the most beautiful rooftop terraces in Florence, thanks to the agreement with 19 hotels; this is really a unique opportunity to observe Florence from above and discover unexpected and different angles of the city from exclusive viewpoints. 2 – DRINK AND FOOD – Once on the roofterrace, you can take advantage of the hotel’s bar-restaurant and enjoy a drink or a meal (in fact, what you may not know is that these places are not for hotel guests only!). 3 – SHOOT AND WIN – Yes, because “Terrazza con vista” is actually a photo contest: take a picture from one of the terraces, capture the city in an original way and win a free stay in Florence! The contest consists of two categories: a classic picture following the theme “a trendy snapshot for the city of the Renaissance” (to be posted on the Facebook page), or an Instagram picture for the “vintage snapshot of Florence” category (to be posted on Instagram using the hashtag #tcv2013). 4 – VISIT AND WIN – Yes, print the brochure, get it stamped at every terrace that you will visit and, after three stamps, pick up a fun gift at the tourist information office in Via Cavour 1r. 5 – FASHION – The “Visiting Florence Fashion” is a fashion and design classes project linked to the event, in collaboration with IED-European Institute of Design: the students attending the workshop, led by Dutch designer Corné Gabriëls, will create a few objects inspired by the visit of the city and by its image; the prototypes will be shown on June 21, at 6pm, at the Luca Giordano room in the Medici Riccardi Palace and then in the halls of some of the hotels, until September 30. Here you can find all the information about “Terrazza con Vista”, along with the list of the hotels (note: in some cases you may need to book your visit):
