Seravezzina focaccia bread is usually round, golden brown in colour and soft and crumbly. Its colour and unique flavour are the result of mixing two different types of flour: regular ‘0’ flour and stone ground corn flour. The other ingredients are water, salt, natural yeast, olive oil, chopped basil, rosemary, lard and garlic. This focaccia bread is cooked in a wood burning oven and can be enjoyed with cheese, hams and salamis or simply with a glass of good wine. This bread used to only be prepared in winter although today its made all year round in many bakeries throughout the Versilia region.
