Red Night

On the second Saturday in September, Volterra is tinged with Red, the color of sunsets and the predominant hue of Rosso Fiorentino's Deposition from the Cross.  

The Red Night is a much-awaited event for Volterrani themselves and for this very reason more interesting for tourists and visitors as well. 

On the program, after sunset, musical entertainment, readings and short theatrical performances will be repeated every half hour in the many locations located throughout the historic center. 
A fun and interactive way to explore, or rediscover, Volterra. 

A night during which the city takes on a different nature and unleashes its magic.
