Soon to arrive in Versilia are legions of bicycles, sustainable transportation and green tourism types. For two days, from 9am to 8pm, there’ll be an artisanal market, stands of traditional products, entertainment for children and plenty of motivation to put the pedal to the metal!
On May 12 the 23rd Granfondo della Versilia bike race will take place with two routes: a marathon (125 km, altitude 2,480 meters) and a Classic route (95 km, altitude 1,920 meters).
Throughout the event there will be exceptional scenery and unique hospitality for participants to enjoy: there are numerous itineraries you can follow as you explore the Versilia, from serene bicycling routes from Viareggio to Forte dei Marmi up to Mountain Biking in the Apuan Alps or exciting explorations through the Camaiore hills and around the Massaciuccoli Lake.
But it doesn’t end there. Worth visiting in the area are numerous villages and some of Italy’s most beautiful medieval parish churches, along with culinary specialties to sample.
