Four evenings of music with opera, symphonies, jazz and chamber music concerts, hosted for the first time, in the Boboli Gardens in Florence. 'The ReGeneration festival' is a special edition of the annual New Generation Festival which this year is organized in collaboration with the Uffizi Galleries.
The free entry shows will take place from August 26-29, with 500 spectators each evening. Seats will be reserved for health personnel.
Opening the festival will be La Cenerentola by Gioachino Rossini, performed by the Senzaspine Orchestra, a Bolognese collective of under 35s that are dedicated to spreading classical music among all ages and social groups. On August 27, the Italian Youth Orchestra of the Music School of Fiesole will perform and on the 28th, the American jazz musicians 'The Three Divas', will bring the roaring twenties of Broadway and Hollywood to the stage.
Finally, the last evening will again feature Rossini's La Cenerentola. There are also other events such as chamber groups from the Conservatory, the Fiesole music school, the Maggio and the Accademia Musicale Chigiana who will play in the courtyard of Palazzo Pitti. The exhibition of costumes by costume designer Massimo Cantini Parrini at the Meridiana di Boboli and concerts at the Manifattura Tabacchi are also part of the programme.
