Returning on October 4–12 is the traditional Fiera Alla Pieve in Sinalunga (Parish Fair of Sinalunga), for 9 days of events to discuss the future prospects of the area but also to renew the tradition of one of the Valdichiana’s longest-running events that promotes the area and its products.
Developed around the religious celebrations of Our Lady of the Rosary, the fair has its roots in the 14ᵗʰ century when it drew sharecroppers and farmers from all over the Valdichiana to Sinalunga to buy and sell cattle, horses and other work animals. Today, the Fiera alla Pieve hosts nearly 600 stalls peddling all kinds of products and goods.
The Pieve di Sinalunga will thus be the stage for a fair that interweaves history and modernity. Viale Trieste is the beating heart of the activities and shows, while the station parking lot (in Piazza San Guerri) hosts the Agriculture Fair with the interprovincial exhibition of Chianina cattle and typical products. The Luna Park, rather, will extend between Via Ginsburg and Via Pier Paolo Pasolini.
The rich Fiera alla Pieve 2025 program brings together many souls from the religious to the cultural, food and wine, plus artistic worlds for a broad and open look at the future, starting from the roots of its citizens and aiming at preservation and enhancement. Maximum attention is given to typical food and wine, from the beloved pasta dish of Pici all’Aglione, to wine and oil, bolstered by a showcasing of the “White Giant”—the majestic Chianina cattle breed.
The full program is available on the event website.
