The traditional medieval “Great Market” in the city of the Palio
On Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3, the long-awaited appointment with "Il Mercato nel Campo" (The Market in Campo) returns to Siena, two days suspended in time to taste the flavors of yesterday and today.
The 16th edition of the medieval "Mercato Grande" (Great Market) in the city of the Palio will be staged in the beautiful setting of Piazza del Campo. Here, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., it will be possible to find beautiful handicrafts and food and wine delicacies, with the best of Sienese, Tuscan and national excellence, thanks to the more than 150 stalls present.
Shows, meetings and tastings will bring to life the atmosphere that existed in the weekly market at the time of the Republic of Siena.
