
The Padule di Fucecchio Nature Reserve is Italy's largest inland marsh, a paradise for birdwatching enthusiasts , covering 1,800 hectares between the provinces of Pistoia and Florence.
On Sunday, November 19 and Sunday, December 3 (9 a.m. to noon), the Center for Research, Documentation and Promotion of the Padule di Fucecchio offers a relaxing trail for nature lovers and nature photography enthusiasts. An experience to admire picturesque landscapes and learn more about local history and traditions.
Departure from the Castelmartini Visitor Center, which houses a permanent display and temporary exhibitions on the wetland area. From here a pleasant walk on a flat road, really suitable for everyone, will take the visitor towards the Padule di Fucecchio, crossing typical Tuscan landscapes and the precious Chiusi Woods, with its centuries-old oaks.
Arriving at the ancient Port of Le Morette, an important landing place along the waterways of the past, we will continue to the wildlife observatory to watch the autumn migratory birds that frequent the clearings of the protected area.
