"Music before Music" - exhibition by Franco Mussida

A wonderful, rare and singular event is coming to Follonica from June 18 to October 9, 2022: Franco Mussida is reintroducing himself to his audience with a new exhibition that, as he himself declares "will be his last, at least for the next two years" ! 

The exhibition, titled "Music Before Music," is dedicated to listeners. The artist will put on display works on the Musical Code and a space dedicated to his generation, those who played and heard Music in places where it was usually danced, namely the Balere. A total of one hundred works, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, plates and models. 

At the opening Franco Mussida will bring his guitar, and it will be a special guitar, the one he will use in his new work: something unexpected, something unheard of, something that, when you hear it, you recognize it even if it has never been heard before.

Franco Mussida was born in Milan in 1947. Musician, composer, teacher, philosopher-researcher. He writes, paints, sculpts, experiments and plays. Founding member of PFM - Premiata Forneria Marconi, with which he made dozens of albums, writing many of the group's national and international hits. He has collaborated and played with singer-artists and intellectuals, such as Fabrizio De Andrè, Francesco Guccini, Paolo Conte, Lucio Dalla, and Mogol. In 1984 he founded the CPM Music Institute in Milan, a training model in our country. He has conceived and implemented projects in which Music operates in a humanistic key, among them "CO2," a work in 12 Italian prisons awarded the medal of the Presidency of the Republic. Since 2012 he has been declining his 30 years of research on the effects of Music on the emotional structure, orienting them towards art and non-fiction. He designs and creates experiential exhibitions, momentary and permanent installations.
