Masaccio's works return to his hometown along with those of Beato Angelico, thanks to an unmissable exhibition that, from September 17, 2022 to January 15, 2023, celebrates the two artists' contributions to the world of Renaissance art.
The exhibition "Masaccio and Angelico. Dialogue on Truth in Painting" is on display at two venues in San Giovanni Valdarno: the Museo delle Terre Nuove and the Museo della Basilica di Santa Maria delle Grazie.
On display at the Museo delle Terre Nuove is a selection of works centered on the figure of Masaccio, related to the iconography of the Madonna and Child, with two masterpieces from the Uffizi Gallery.
The exhibition section at the Museo della Basilica is dedicated to Angelico, with wonderful works by the artist, particularly on the theme of the Annunciation.
The exhibition is part of the Uffizi Gallery's traveling project "Terre degli Uffizi", aimed at enhancing the Tuscan art scene and its connection with the territory.
