Marciana Borgo d’Arte, Festival of contemporary arts and cultures, now in its second edition, dedicated to Rosanna Barbiellini Amidei and in collaboration with various bodies and associations, presents a series of initiatives on the theme “Art & Nature”.
The festival, started from a project by Valentina Anselmi, in collaboration with Roberto Ridi and Loredana Zugno, has as its main purpose the redevelopment of the village of Marciana, promoting and enhancing the territory and the historical and artistic heritage through multidisciplinary interventions.
The synergy between Marciana Borgo d’Arte and the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, for the 2019 edition, was created to encourage and support initiatives dedicated to raising awareness about the environment, towards urgent problems related to pollution and to the promotion of the territory. To enhance the natural heritage of the Unesco MAB Tuscan Islands reserve, and to promote virtuous initiatives regarding the safeguarding of our ecosystem, cultural activities and events will be carried out to create a community of interests towards the most urgent environmental problems.
In this way art becomes a means to promote scientific, biological and cultural knowledge, a tool to modernise and communicate themes of various kinds that share the preservation of our heritage as the ultimate goal.
Among the events scheduled for the 2019 season: outdoor photo exhibitions in the ancient streets of the village, site-specific installations, temporary exhibitions, Land Art works, world music concerts, activities for children and a series of cultural meetings aimed to enhance and promote the territory. The festival is divided into the following sections: Visual Arts, Photography, Other music, The circle of stories, Culture and science.
