The battle of Campaldino was fought on 11 June 1289 between the Guelphs and Ghibellines

On the occasion of the anniversary of the battle of Campaldino, the Municipality of Poppi inaugurates the Museum of the Battle of Campaldino in the beautiful rooms of Poppi Castle.

On 11 June 1289, Dante fought on the front line in the battle that saw the Guelphs and Ghibellines fighting for the conquest of the territory. Thanks to the Museum, you will find out all about this famous battle.
