Hypermaremma

The Hypermaremma festival, now in its fourth edition, brings a series of site-specific works, performances, and visual experiences to the Maremma region until the end of the summer.

Opening the festival is the monumental work "I giocolieri dell'armonia" (The Jugglers of Harmony) by Giuseppe Gallo, on display until July 15 on the beach of Tagliata di Ansedonia (near La Barca): twelve figures, with different characters and identities, follow one another in an evocative and alienating procession in which they seem to dance in the absence of gravity; their profiles stretch from the ground towards the sky like shadows that split in a mirror reflection. A work that speaks of territory to territory, telling the story of some of the populations that crossed the Maremma in the past, contributing to the richness and cultural heritage of Tuscany.

The festival then continues until September 30 with the following works and performances:

• "Ships that pass in the night" by Maurizio Nannucci (Rocca Aldobrandesca, Talamone / June 6 - August 30): an unprecedented neon work that invites the viewer to turn his gaze between sea and land, telling the universal story of the happiness of sailors in seeing their land, their home.
• "The city of thing" (Antica Città di Cosa, Ansedonia / June 25): a performance by Francesco Cavaliere, an artist who integrates writing, sound, voice, drawing and sculpture in his work.
• "In nature nothing exists alone" by Claudia Comte (Pescia Fiorentina, Capalbio / July 16 - September 30): specialised in imposing environmental installations that examine themes such as climate change, ecology and global pollution, for Hypermaremma Comte has created a work 105 metres long and 5 metres high, made entirely of pine trunks from Monte Amiata, to be placed in a wheat field to narrate the agricultural origins of the area.
