Naples and Paris, two European capitals of nineteenth-century musical culture are united by the presence of great composers and the cult of belcanto. The sixth edition of our festival takes you on a journey from Vesuvio to the Seine, thanks to a rich series of masterpiece arias that, from 1812 – 1864, were performed in the theatres and opera halls of these two extraordinary cities. The composers behind the music influenced each other, defining methods and style. Their names are famous, but the pieces proposed in the program are for the most part rare, making the programme even more enchanting and captivating.
To guide us on this journey, Mert Süngü, one of the acclaimed bel canto tenors of the last generation, comes to the festival for the first time and we are extremely pleased to finally present his debut. This year’s edition also sees a welcome return for Michele D’Elia: a wonderful pianist and a brilliant provider of suggestions and welcome advice.
