"Accadde in Versilia" is the title of the exhibition set up in Forte dei Marmi, at Forte Leopoldo, I from June 17 to November 5: a brushstroke reading of that magical moment that Versilia experienced at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, when the incredibly harmonious landscape, climate and waters attracted here the European beau monde and beyond. Personalities attracted by the thermal baths, of course, but also by the cultural environment created by those who would meet here, improvising artistic, literary and musical dinner parties.
Curated by Elisabetta Matteucci, Francesca Panconi and Claudia Fulgheri, the exhibition focuses its investigation on three great protagonists of that magical moment - Plinio Nomellini, Lorenzo Viani and Moses Levy - offering a fine selection of their masterpieces, some not seen for a long time, from private collections, and with the extraordinary Festa al villaggio by Nomellini, granted by the Pinacoteca "il Divisionismo" of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Tortona.
Opening:
Friday, June 16 at 5 p.m.
Fortino Leopoldo I Piazza Garibaldi, Forte dei Marmi
The exhibition is produced by the Società di Belle Arti, under the patronage of the City of Forte dei Marmi and in collaboration with Fondazione Villa Bertelli. Under the patronage of the Region of Tuscany and the Province of Lucca.
