The title for the original exhibition which should have been held in 2020, the year in which Daniel Spoerri turned 90 and was postponed due to the pandemic, was retained in order to keep the sense of festivity fitting for the personality being celebrated. “Daniel Spoerri: Festa di Compleanno" explores the vast artistic production of Spoerri, the sculptural experience that reaches us since the early seventies and which is characterized, over time, also by the production at the Fonderia Caporrella in Rome.
The "Vittorio Caporrella" Art Foundation makes Spoerri's works available, together with others by Mimmo Rotella, Arman and César (Baldaccini), artists who, in October 1960, gave birth to the Nouveau Realism company alongside him. They are flanked by works by Carin Grudda, Ali Traore and Georges Boisgontier, as well as artists with whom Spoerri shared phases of creation, production, and exchange of ideas at the Fonderia Caporrella, and by Gino Filippeschi, Emo Formichi, Emanuele Giannetti, Riccardo Grazzi, Francesco Roviello, and Piero Sbarluzzi.
The widespread and travelling exhibition will be housed in the Civic Museum, the entrance hall and cloister of the Town Hall, the garden and cloister of the Fortress, and three monumental cellars where Vino Nobile di Montepulciano ages: Contucci, De 'Ricci and Talosa.
At the ticket office of the Museo Civico Pinacoteca Crociani, you can purchase the FMS Card, the simplest and most convenient way to discover the Sienese museums!
