Parish churches and Convents Eaterywalking

Walking in the green Lunigiana

To say goodbye to summer and welcome autumn, the Parish churches and Convents Eaterywalking (Mangiawalking delle Pievi e dei Conventi) takes place on September 24, an event organized by a group of Nordic Walking enthusiasts from the Pro Loco of Casola in Lunigiana and now in its sixth September edition.

This food walk is a ring trail of about 14 km that winds through villages, farm roads, forests and olive groves, with five stops to enjoy good zero-km food, such as Marocca di Casola, an ancient chestnut flour bread now a Slow Food Presidium, and excellent local wine.

It is an opportunity to immerse oneself in nature, discover unknown corners of Lunigiana and visit ancient churches and convents, with sites of historical and artistic value: Pugliano, Antognano, San Lorenzo Parish church, Argigliano, Convent Casola.

Ahead of September 24, Pro Loco volunteers have finished cleaning the trails and set up signage along the entire route, and the associations running the refreshment stations are busy organizing the tasty menu.

The meeting is in Piazza della Torre di Casola from where you will leave in groups, at fifteen-minute intervals from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., accompanied by Pro Loco volunteers.
