Calici di Stelle in Montepulciano

Calici di Stelle is the most anticipated midsummer night for wine lovers all over Italy. 

In Montepulciano, the embrace of beauty and taste becomes magic with a new formula that combines traveling tastings and guided tastings in exclusive locations in the Renaissance town. 

The program

The tastings

• Itinerant tasting  
  Piazza Grande - Sant'Agostino, from 6 p.m
  The classic formula of Calici di Stelle, with tastings through the alleys of Montepulciano. With the purchase of the Coupon Stella, you receive a wine glass and a wine glass holder for tasting five wines - two labels of Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG and three of Rosso di Montepulciano DOC - at the two locations of Piazza Grande and Sant'Agostino, with FISAR sommeliers. 
  Cost: €15, to be purchased only on the evening of August 10.
• Guided Tasting in 3 exclusive locations  
  at 7 p.m. and 9.30 p.m. 
  Tasting of 3 labels of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG by producers and in the presence of FISAR sommeliers. Paired with the wines: extra virgin olive oil, Chianina tartare or local cheeses and pappa al pomodoro. Completing the atmosphere will be a performance by musicians from the H.W. Music Institute Henze of Montepulciano. 
  Cost: €22, with online reservations (San Biagio, Vicolo del Leone and Via di Pie' Al Sasso), subject to availability.
• Tasting in Contrada
  In the eight contrade of the Bravìo delle Botti, from 8 p.m. 
  Montepulciano wines accompany the dinners in the eight contrade of the Bravìo delle Botti. Purchase a bottle of Rosso di Montepulciano DOC or Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG directly in the Contrada on August 10.

Extraordinary activities 

• At 7 p.m. - Procession of the Flag-wavers and Drummers of the Bravìo delle Botti di Montepulciano, departing from Via di Gracciano nel Corso (Marzocco Column) and arriving in Piazza Grande
• At 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. - Entertainment for children and adults at the location of Via di Piè al Sasso
• Until 10 p.m. - Special opening of the Enoliteca of the Consorzio del Vino Nobile, at Via di San Donato 21 (inside the Fortezza)

  Waiting for Calici di Stelle  
  Stroll under the stars on the eve of the night of San Lorenzo for an unusual and exclusive experience among the alleys of Montepulciano's historic center. Nose up to catch a glimpse of a shooting star in the sky and make a wish on the panoramic terrace of the Enoteca del Consorzio del Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, at the Poliziana Fortress, and taste a glass of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG.
