Tour on the footsteps of the hermit Pietro

We will set out from the thousand-year-old Badia di Montepiano, located astride the Setta creek along ancient communication routes, exploring an area where the beauty of nature blends with the legend of the miracles of the hermit Pietro Igneo ("Beato Pietro"), a popular figure linked to the monks of the Vallombrosan Order.

We will reach the Alpe Cavarzano Pass where we will admire the majestic views of the craggy ANPIL of Alto Carigiola and Monte delle Scalette, and then head to the green alpine meadows of Poggio di Petto with its characteristic "Croce del Compasso e degli Arnesi" (Compass and Tools Cross) and the trenches of the Second World War. We will admire a panorama that sweeps from the Calvana to the Bilancino lake before walking through the beautiful beech forests that will lead us back to the Badia di Montepiano.
