Tomboli biogenetic nature reserve
Coastal hiking in the nature reserve
The Tomboli di Cecina biogenetic nature reserve is home to one of the most beautiful pine forests in Italy established by Grand Duke Leopold. It is a diverse ecosystem consisting of streams and dune cordons covered in dense vegetation.
We will set off to discover the area located to the south of the Cecina river. It is the most naturalistically important one. We will immerse ourselves in the beautiful flat paths through the juniper and holm oak scrub, and we will walk through the Leopoldina pine forest and the small bridges over the streams that will lead us to splendid views of the sea.
We will have a lunch break near Marina di Bibbona. We will be lulled by the sound of the waves and the scent of salt as we complete our journey within the splendid natural area of the Etruscan coast.
What to bring: packed lunch, 1.5 liter water each, compulsory waterproof trekking or trail shoes, long trousers, layered clothing (micro fleece, windproof, shell or k-way), optional trekking poles, backpack and charger batteries.
The tour will take place on Saturday 16 November at 09:30
