The Chianti Hills and San Gimignano are an pleasure for your eyes. At evening time, enjoy dinner on a local farm overlooking the San Gimignano's towers and the soft rolling vine covered hills. You'll meet the Guide in front of the San Domenico's church in Siena at 2:30pm; if you'll arrive with your own car you 'll find near easy-to-find parking.
Travel north into the Chianti hills, an area rich with dense oak wood forests and cypress trees. Let's start into a Chianti wine estate: there is where you'll see vineyards and wine cellars; you 'll watch the winemaking process before sitting down to enjoy a tasting of the famous Chianti Classico Black Rooster wines. Continuing the visit and you can do a nice walk in Monteriggioni, perfect medieval preserved fortress with a 13Th century built complete ring of city walls and turrets. This was mentioned in Dante's Divine Comedy as it was the main defense structure of the Siena city versus Florence's Army. You'll take a look at shops of local crafts and products, we arrive in the Unesco-protected site of world heritage San Gimignano, so beautiful and romantic Town of Towers, and there we will take personal time to see the Collegiata church. Take a look to boutique shops of artisanal goods, sample local products, particularly the local saffron and Vernaccia. Take a walk up to the Rocca. After the medieval San Gimignano we'll go into an organic farm for a full Tuscan dinner with tastings of the famous Vernaccia as well as the local red Chianti. Weather permitting, dinner will be served on a terrace overlooking the nearby cultivated fields, the background of the sunset on the profile of San Gimignano. In bad weather conditions, dinner will be served comfortably indoors.
