On the tracks of Isabella de' Medici in Cerreto Guidi

An itinerary in the countryside, a Unesco Heritage villa and the emancipated and tragic figure of Isabella de' Medici are the ingredients of this proposal.

We will drive through the scenic surrounding hills entering the Valley of the Streda stream with beautiful views of Montalbano. We are at the center of an area created by the union between nature and man. 

On our way, we will encounter historic roads used by the Etruscans and Romans, while wonderful views of Cerreto will open up from the Colle di San Zio. We will descend along the Rio Filicaja Valley to reach the historic farm of Colle Alberti, founded by the noble lineage of the Longobard Counts where silkworms were bred in the 19th century.

Once we reach Cerreto Guidi, we will be fascinated by the Villa and the story of Isabella de' Medici, who met her fateful hour in this place.
