Moriglion di Penna is a peak overlooking the villages of Santa Maria del Giudice and San Lorenzo a Vaccoli, in the northern portion of the Pisan Mountains. It is hard to find similar places!
Get ready to travel along ancient quarries and historic mule tracks, surrounded by lush Mediterranean scrub, forests and limestone ridges to the summit of Moriglion di Penna which, although only reaching a maximum height of 542 meters, offers a breathtaking view that stretches from the Tyrrhenian coast to the peaks of the northern Apennines.
Our gaze will be presented with a boundless landscape encompassing Mount Faeta and all the major peaks of the area, the sea and its islands, the Apuan Alps, the Apennines and again the plains of Pisa and Lucca.
Having lit our lamps, we will descend to Monte Cotrozzi where we will meet the ancient rock carvings and finally complete our itinerary immersed in the quiet of this beautiful valley.
