By bike from San Giuliano to the Passo della Conserva
A route on the slopes of Monte Pisano, between centuries-old chestnut trees and breathtaking views towards the plain of Pisa and the sea
We will leave from San Giuliano Terme, made famous by its beneficial springs, and during the excursion we will be able to admire Monte Pisano in all its majesty.
At the foot of the mountain, in the hamlet of Agnano, we'll start the climb to the Conserva pass, a unique place located just 370 meters above sea level on the border between the provinces of Pisa and Lucca, where centuries-old chestnut trees alternate with breathtaking views of the horizon and the Tyrrhenian Sea.
The route then continues towards the town of Asciano, descending between trails and mountain paths characterized by the typical vegetation of Monte Pisano.
Once at the level ground, we will return to San Giuliano Terme, skirting the mountain to discover its ancient quarries, from which the materials for the construction of the Tower of Pisa and its monumental complex were extracted.
