Hiking on the Etruscan road of Zinghera in Maremma

hiking
Tours

Geological-naturalistic itinerary of 14 km in the area of the Bandite di Scarlino, in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma

A few kilometres from the fabulous Cala Violina, an ancient cart road unfolds, already used more than 2,000 years ago by the Etruscans, which connected Vetulonia and Scarlino with the sea in the ancient road axis of the Etruscan metropolis.

We will take a 14 km hiking trail (suitable for people with a minimum of walking training) in a splendid forest, admiring the diversification of tree species. Halfway through the visit, we will also be able to admire the remains of an ancient Etruscan quarry, closely linked to the necropolis of Poggio Tondo (located a few kilometres further down the valley).
