We will start the tour from the highest point of our itinerary: Barga.
The village will surprise us with its narrow uphill streets and the large terrace overlooking the Apuan Alps which twice a year offer the spectacle of the “double sunset”. We will visit this ancient village and its historical monuments and then begin our gentle descent into the valley.
Along the way, alongside the Serchio river, we will meet the Ponte della Maddalena or more commonly known as “Ponte Del Diavolo”, famous for the legend that lie behind it and which you will be able to discover together with your guide.
We will continue the descent to reach Ponte a Moriano where a well-deserved lunch based on local products will restore us before resuming the ride towards Lucca where we will stay overnight.
The following day, after a detailed visit of the city, we will follow the route of the Nottolini Aqueduct, which with its arches will lead us to the foot of Monte Pisano. A path through the typical woods of the mountain will take us to the Santallago Plateau where we will have lunch pampered by the chirping of birds and the wind that passes through the trees.
A relaxing descent will then lead us to an ancient oil mill, a few kilometers from the fortified village of Vicopisano, where we can taste the precious Evo oil accompanied by croutons and local delicacies.
After visiting small villages, big cities and mountain scenery, this will be the day by the sea. In fact, a ride almost entirely on the plain will allow us to reach the coast where a delicious lunch on the sea will be waiting for us before returning to the meeting point.
