Foliage, Casentino sacred forests
A unique experience among millenary hermitages, waterfalls, incredible views in the autumnal guise of foliage
Come and discover the Sacred Forest trails in the Casentino Forest National Park. We propose you an excursion of excellence in the heart of one of the most historically and naturalistically significant areas of Tuscany. The area was a monastic center in the past (of the Camaldolese order, founded by St. Romuald) and a reservoir for the timber trade to Florence. Today it is a National Park protecting one of the largest and most biodiverse southern forest areas in Europe.
We will depart from the Hermitage of Camaldoli, the ancient "Campo Amabile" along the Flaminia Minor pathway.
