We will start from the ancient "Hersina," a place name of Etruscan origin, an open and sunny place with the thousand-year-old Pieve di Sant'Andrea, an icon of the Florentine hilly landscape.
We will arrive at the Memorial Stone of the fallen of Radio Co.Ra. (Radio Coordination), recalling the fascinating and tragic fate of the radio station established by the "Partito d'Azione" of Florence to transmit information and coordinate Resistance actions in occupied Italy. Through a beautiful cypress grove, we will arrive at the scenic Piazzale Leonardo da Vinci, with incredible views from Chianti to the Apuan Alps.
We will reach the beautiful "Sella degli Scollini" saddle, the scene of the battle of the "Fonte dei Seppi," and then arrive through an easy forest road to Ceppeto, where we will find the memorial plaque to the First Fallen of the Florentine Resistance.
Finally, from the Oratory of San Jacopo we will descend through gentle olive groves to the remains of the mysterious Castle of Castiglioni, a Lombard fort and later a Renaissance villa, while the unmistakable silhouette of the "Pieve di Cercina" will greet the end of this coaxing experience.
