The museum is located in the wine cellars of Villa Spalletti di Poggio Reale. It was re-opened in 2000 after renovations to the exhibit space were carried out. The pinacoteca, or main gallery, has a historical and agricultural theme that pays particular attention to the techniques of grape growing and wine making in the area, both past and present. The museum pays tribute to the history and vocation of wine making, underscoring the important link between wine and territory. By showcasing instruments, equipment, photographs, videos and original documents, the museum is like a sort of wine making laboratory or workshop that unites tradition and innovation.
