The Museum of Peasant and Farming Life, Marciana

This museum features numerous tools and utensils which represent a bygone way of peasant life

The Museum of Peasant and Farming Life is housed in an old windmill. It contains collections of work tools used in the past by farmers which were donated to the local town council to be put on display. The museum highlights the history of wine production, as this used to provide the main source of income for the whole western part of the island. Evidence of extensive vineyards here is still visible today on the area’s terraced slopes.
