This Centre documents the many castles of the Casentino region, using educational panels and audiovisual material. The Centre is housed in the old twelfth century San Niccolò church, which is in the fortified town which used to belong to the counts Guidi di Modigliana.

At an altitude of 380 m above sea level, Castel San Niccolò has a population of approximately 2,000 inhabitants and is spread out in numerous medieval villages.
