Museo Comunale del Figurino Storico a Calenzano

The Civic Museum of Historical Figurines in Calenzano

An itinerary through the world of miniature modeling

The museum was established in 1981 following the success of an exhibition held by the municipal administration of Calenzano, the Club del Soldatino and the Historical Figurine association of Calenzano. Since the mid-1990s, the museum has had a didactic focus and is intended for schools. Today, it is located in the rooms of the Castle of Calenzano Alto. Its cultural offering is enriched thanks to its location in the castle, the formation of an animated group and the establishment of a documentation centre.

The museum collection comprises a series of historical figurines from antiquity (from the Etruscan period to the Roman era) and figurines of WWII soldiers. The visit reconstructs the history, different types and production phases of figurine soldiers.
