The Serristori Hospital in Figline was founded in 1399 by Ser Ristoro di Iacopo Serristori. The historic Spezieria (pharmacy), opened in the first half of the 1500s and renovated in 1724, conserves its 16th-century décor (with additions from the last century), ceramic and glass pieces from the 15th to the 19th centuries and paintings.
Visitors can also admire majolica vases from the 16th and 17th centuries and various medicinal glass vases ranging from the 17th to 18th centuries that were used to conserve chemical and medicinal compounds and materials, which the hand-written 19th-century labels demonstrate: some vases still preserve a bit of their contents on the bottom.
The Serristori Spezieria is temporarily closed for maintenance.
