Educational itineraries highlight area’s history


The man-made ice education center is located in a former middle school gymnasium. It is a part of the Montagna Pistoiese EcoMuseum and is primarily used by schools to complete their education about the ancient local practice of “cultivating” ice. Activities include research through documentaries, slides, models and old work tools. The center was created to further the historical and technical education about the evolution of the ice industry in the Pistoia mountain region.

Hours: April, May, June, September, October: Saturday and Sunday from 16-19.
July and August, every day except Mondays from 16-19.
Price: 2,00 € with guided visit
