Mazzocchio by Ben Jakober and Yannick Vu

Contemporary art in Prato

Prato

This sculpture by Ben Jakober and Yannick Vu is located in Prato near Porta Frascati in Via Pomeria.

Created between 1993-94 from a large steel tube, this sculpture is part of a series that is inspired by drawings of two great Tuscan masters of the Renaissance: Leonardo da Vinci and, even more, Paolo Uccello, to whom the name refers. The series reproduces these artists' complex construction system upon which the theory of perspective was applied, in a large scale in industrial materials.
