The civic tower of the city of Cinigiano is located in the historic centre of this medieval village, in Piazza Marconi. It was built in 1800 over the site of the medieval Town Hall, which was destroyed in an renewal program for the historic centre. The tower is in a neo-Romaneque style, characterized by the squared base, two levels, and the decorative elements including the round openings. The clock which gives the tower its name is located on the piazza side of the tower, in a midway position below the crenellated top. Many of these decorative details seem to be inspired by the stylistic elements of the Torre del Mangia in Siena.
