The museum is home to a collection of paintings and masterpieces of sacred art and decorations that come from the region’s many churches. Them museum’s aim is to save, preserve and highlight the value of this collection of devotional pieces.
The museum’s collection is divided into four separate rooms, depending on where the items come from. The first two rooms are dedicated to works of art, silverware and sacred decorations from San Piero in Mercato, the third room contains items from Coeli Aula and San Pancrazio and the last room is dedicated to wall hangings and paper objects.
The museum’s more important works include a beautiful tempera panel by Filippo Lippi, a panel by Neri di Bicci and an ancient marble baptismal font that dates back to the XII century.

Visit the important Museum of Sacred Art
The area in and around Montespertoli has been inhabited since the Etruscans first settled in the region. The town was situated on the important trade route, the Via Volterrana, which connected Florence, Siena and Volterra.
