The Casentino Golf Club in Poppi, in the province of Arezzo is a 9 hole course with a 36 par, that is 2,275 m. the whole course, inaugurated in 1990, may be seen from the Club House, built at the top of wide terraced areas that are surrounded by oak woods. The project for the course is to extend it to 18 holes. Technique and precision usually prevail over strength here. From an unparalleled panoramic position, the whole valley of the Casentino can be seen at one sweeping glance – castles, Romanesque churches, ancient monasteries (Camaldoli and La Verna), forests and nature reserves – all integrated in a perfectly untouched Tuscan landscape that since 1993 has made up a national park. Local hospitality, various options available for free time activities and a very particular gastronomic tradition all contribute to drawing a constant and devoted flow of tourists, not en masse, however, all the year round in this delightful green spot in Tuscany.
